First, it was a rumor on social networks. Then the ayuntamiento of Sant Josep has confirmed it. The access to Es Vedra parking area is now officially closed. The goal: protect this special site from mass tourism.<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

If you were planning to watch one of the best sunsets of Ibiza<\/a> over Es Vedr\u00e0<\/a>, you\u2019ll have to rethink your plans. The access to the Es Vedra parking lot of Cala d\u2019Hort, once crowded with tourists trying to capture the perfect moment, is now closed. Dirt, rocks and barriers prevent motorized access, while a police presence keeps a watchful eye. The closure does not only affect parking: access on foot is now also restricted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A decision to protect this magical site<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

But why this decision? Behind this shocking measure lies a reality that local residents have been denouncing for years: overcrowding and the accelerating deterioration of the site. Too many people, too much noise, too much waste. Ubiquitous drones, wild parties and rudeness have finally sealed the Belvedere\u2019s fate. The Town Hall justifies the closure by saying that the preservation of the site has become an emergency, even if it means restricting access to one of Ibiza\u2019s natural jewels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
