Es Bol Nou beach in Ibiza is closed “until further notice”. The Sant Josep town council has decided to restrict access as a matter of urgency due to the risk of landslides. Caution is advised for holidaymakers.
Ibiza Es Bol Nou beach has been closed its doors indefinitely. This Saturday, the Sant Josep Town Council ordered the immediate closure of Es Bol Nou beach, one of Ibiza’s most popular natural nuggets opposite the famous Sa Caleta restaurant (one of the best paellas of Ibiza). The reason? A report from the Coastal Demarcation Service leaves little room for doubt: the risk of landslides in the area is very real, and it is urgent to protect visitors and residents alike.
One of the most peaceful beaches of Ibiza
In concrete terms, access to Es Bol Nou is now strictly forbidden, with signs and barriers in place. The motto is clear: no improvisation or sneaking in, or there will be serious dangers. The mayor’s office insists on the absolute necessity of complying with these instructions to avoid any regrettable accidents. It’s out of the question to take a selfie at the top of these friable cliffs…
This closure, “until further notice”, obviously comes at a bad time for lovers of confidential coves and crystal-clear waters, at the height of the summer season. But safety comes first, even on an island where la dolce vita is considered an art de vivre.
So, while you’re waiting to put your towel down again on the orange sands of Es Bol Nou, it’s best to focus on the dozens of other sublime beaches that Ibiza has to offer. And who knows, perhaps this enforced break will allow nature to regain its rights a little. To be continued…
